Animal Welfare

MBRose has a natural thinking of animal welfare and believe that improving this will give better results. We actively work with the principals of the 3R´s and secures that every product is at least covered by the 2010/63/EU directive

The 2010/63/EU directive

On 22 September 2010 the EU adopted Directive 2010/63/EU which updates and replaces the 1986 Directive 86/609/EEC on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes. The aim of the new Directive is to strengthen legislation, and improve the welfare of those animals still needed to be used, as well as to firmly anchor the principle of the Three Rs, to Replace, Reduce and Refine the use of animals, in EU legislation. Directive 2010/63/EU took full effect on 1 January 2013.

With respect of the updated legislation and an overall motivation to contribute to the 3R´s MBRose strive to incorporate this thinking into every project. Combined with our +25 years experience working with animals makes a good basis for a great product/project for both the animals and the users.

The 3R principle (replace, reduce, refine)

Replacement: Replacement of animal experiments by methods that do not involve animals

Reduction: Reduction in the number of animals in unavoidable animal experiments

Refinement: Improvement in experimental procedures, in unavoidable animal experiments
